Mr Rabbit hearts Porter

Mr Rabbit just flew Porter Air for the first time down to EWR for a business meeting in NYC. We have a place in downtown Toronto so the walk to the Porter shuttle stop at the Royal York Hotel took 10 minutes. The ferry is stupid but it’s not their fault.
Check in and the departure lounge are great. The departure lounge is as good as the AC Maple Leaf Club in Pearson or one of the new UA Red Carpet Clubs in the US. A Swiss super-auto espresso machine (ie press button for cappuccino), private-label Porter water, and Walker shortbread. The flight was about half full. Breakfast snack box with mini-muffin, mini-fruit cup. Coffee in a porcelain cup. We were the only flight at US Customs in EWR.
Return flight 9am next morning: no lines in EWR international terminal; I was alone in the security line. Easy flight. 10 minutes to clear customs in TCCA. Then that stupid ferry and a crowded Porter shuttle back to York and Front. I had a 9:15am flight from EWR and I was home in downtown Toronto by noon.
The roundtrip fare was under $400. This would have been equivalent to a $280 fare out of YYZ because I would have had to pay $120 for 2 limo rides plus the extra cost for 4+ hours of extra time required to fly in and out of YYZ. I’ll be buying Porter passes as soon as Porter starts BOS service. I’m a pretty loyal United flyer but Porter is so nice and YYZ is such a hassle that I don’t care about losing the Star Alliance miles for these short-haul flights.
