The Cupcake Boutique (Andover, MA) - Red Velvet!!
There is nothing more perfect than a personal cake… and The Cupcake Boutique in Andover, MA has some very tempting options. We stopped by on a chilly Saturday to do a bit of window shopping (Rabbit window-shops confections like other women window shop shoes).The case was filled with delectable delicacies and Mr. Rab quickly talked me into splitting a red velvet cupcake.
We settled in at small round table in the pretty, girl-icious space and relaxed with a coffee and tea - and, of course, our cake! The cake itself was light and delicious with a beautiful red hue. The cream cheese frosting was generously heaped on top of the cake and decorated with little red sprinkles. Unfortunately, the frosting itself perhaps erred on the too-sweet side. Rabbit actually chipped off part of her frosting and Mr. Rab threatened to go into a sugar coma.
But we still wanted another cake. Resisting the likes of lemon and raspberry, pumpkin with cream cheese filling, and coconut snowball, we opted instead for some free samples of brownies and blondies. The brownies were noteworthily fab - moist and super-chocolate. We also spied the bakers working on the most beautiful cake ever. So gorgeous that we took a snap. Behold:
The staff here were all graciously accommodating and as sweet as their lovely offerings. Recommended.
